OXYCONTIN

OxyContin is the trade name for Oxycodone Hydrochloride, a CSA Schedule II opiate. It is a prescription drug that provides pain relief by acting on opioid receptors in the spinal chord, brain and the tissues directly. OxyContin is a central nervous system depressant. Taken orally, it is a controlled released pill that acts for 12 hours. Other shorter acting oxycodone products are Percoset, Percodan and Tylox.
