KETAMINE

Ketamine, CSA Schedule III, is primarily used in veterinary medicine as a rapid acting, general anesthetic whose pharmacological profile is essentially the same as phencyclidine (PCP). Like PCP, individuals anesthesized with Ketamine feel detached or diconnected from their pain and environment. PCP and Ketamine are therefore more properly known as "dissociative anesthetics", not hallicinogins. In addition, Ketamine has both analgesic (pain relief) and amnesic (memory loss) properties.
