“Here Comes SexyKat”
It was on December 8, 2007, that the members of the Woodbridge Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the Rahway Police Department culminated an investigation into the marijuana distribution of James Talmadge Jr. and Donna “Sexykat” Stanley.
At approximately 8:45pm, as the officers were conducting a surveillance of the Sheraton Hotel on Route 1 in Iselin, a 2001 Jaguar bearing the license plate “SEXYKAT” pulled into the parking lot. The car drove towards the rear of the hotel and parked. The passenger, Mr. Talmadge, got out of the vehicle and began talking on his cellular phone while looking around throughout the parking lot.
As two detectives identified themselves and approached Mr. Talmadge, he became very anxious and appeared to be shaking, while looking around as for a direction to flee. Other detectives then began to approach and had the driver, Donna Stanley, exit the car. After speaking to both Talmadge and Stanley, consent to search the car was obtained. The results of that search, was the seizure of four (4) twenty (20) pound packages of marijuana that was wrapped like Christmas presents from the trunk.
Both Talmadge and Stanley were placed under arrest and charged with the Possession and Intent to Distribute over five (5) pounds of marijuana, Possession of over fifty (50) grams of marijuana and Possession of drug paraphernalia.
The New Jersey Narcotic Enforcement Officer’s Association commends the officers of the Woodbridge Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force and the Rahway Police Department on their keen eyes, perception and perseverance that resulted in such an outstanding seizure.
