“The Bellevue Avenue Stash”

           On October 22nd, 2007 the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit concluded a six-week surveillance operation into drug dealing taking place in the area around 446 Bellevue Avenue, Trenton. Several weeks prior, the Unit began the investigation after fielding several complaints from residents in the area complaining of suspected drug dealing.
           Detectives from the prosecutor's office assisted by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office raided the Bellevue Avenue apartment and simultaneously pulled Shawn C. Murphy, 24, over in a 2000 Cadillac STS. Murphy was arrested without incident and charged with possession and possession with the intent to distribute heroin and possession with the intent to distribute heroin within school and park zones. Bail was set in the amount of $200,000.
           In the master bedroom of the apartment, which Murphy used as a stash location, narcotics K-9 dog Rome sniffed out 112 bricks of heroin inside a box in the center console of a dresser. The heroin has a street value of approximately $56,000.
           The New Jersey Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association Commends the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, along with those officers from the other police agencies who participated in the Bellevue Avenue investigation on their diligent efforts in narcotic enforcement.
