“ASBURY PARK LOSES SOME "BLOOD"”

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Task Force ended a lengthy investigation on September 20, 2007 of several individuals who were involved in a drug distribution network being run by members of the “Bloods” street gang.
The Gang Task Force, comprised of officers from the Monmouth County: Prosecutor’s Office, Sheriff’s Department, Corrections Department, along with officers from the Asbury Park, Neptune, Keansburg, Long Branch, Howell and Marlboro police departments, initiated the investigation after receiving information that a drug distribution operation was being conducted in Asbury Park, and that children as young as thirteen years old were being used to conduct the illegal drug business.
The culmination of the investigation began on the 20th with the arrest of nine individuals at an Avenue A residence, one of which was Ebony Peete, 26, a reputed “Bloods” member who was charged with being the leader of the drug trafficking network. Seized from the residence was 350 bags of suspected heroin, an imitation handgun, and evidence of the drug distribution operation that employed juveniles to facilitate business. A total of 21 individuals were arrested and charged, all of which were identified as being either members of associates of the “Bloods” street gang.
The NJNEOA congratulates the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Task Force on their outstanding investigation in helping to keep the streets of Asbury Park both Gang and Drug free.
