“A TEAM EFFORT”

Once again, after a month long investigations, Officers from Highlands Police Department Narcotics Unit culminated those investigations by executing search warrants at two borough residences.
On January 13, 2007 Sgt. Joseph Rogers, Patrolmen Anthony Macri and George Ruth, along with other officers from the department, executed a search warrant at a Bay Avenue home, where two roommates were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Seized from the residence were quantities of marijuana, pills and paraphernalia.
A week later, on January 29, 2007 the officers again executed a search warrant, this time at a Shrewsbury Avenue home.  This time they arrested two individuals residing at the residence and charged them with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute, possession within 500 feet of a public park, possession of drug paraphernalia and interception of emergency communication to facilitate a crime.  Seized from this residence were quantities of marijuana, pills, narcotic paraphernalia and a police scanner.
The NJNEOA commends the officers from the Highlands Police Department on their dedication and persistence towards narcotic enforcement in their community.
