“SOUTH JERSEY vs BLOODS 9-3”

On July 24, 2006, at 5:00am, the Cape May County Narcotics Task Force, a New Jersey State Police SWAT team, and local police culminated a several month long narcotics investigation that culminated with the execution of a search warrant at a home located on East Pacific Avenue in the Villas. Arrested at the residence was J. Randall, aka: Diablo - age 30. Randall is allegedly a high-ranking member of the street gang Bloods' infamous Nine Trey Gangsters. He was charged with distributing drugs, conspiracy to commit homicide, racketeering, and firearms violations..

Randall was only one of 63 arrests during the week in what the State Police called the largest gang sweep in state history. The statewide investigation dubbed “Operation Nine Connect” included 11 arrested in Atlantic County and three in Cumberland County. The main target was the Nine Trey, also known as 9-3, sect within the Bloods. Charges against those arrested range from racketeering to money laundering to drug distribution.

The investigation revealed that members of the Bloods were being “deployed to rural areas” because money could be made distributing drugs in areas where profits are higher.

The NJNEOA commends the New Jersey State Police, the Cape May County, Atlantic County, Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Offices, as well as the local police departments that participated in this intensive narcotics/ gang related investigation.
