"THAT'S ONE DILIGENT CO"
On September 15,2005, a 24-year-old Bridgeton man was arrested at Maplewood Gardens for trespassing and breach of
peace. He found himself in a lot more trouble when a Cumberland County corrections officer found him to be in possession of 28 bags of heroin
when he was later taken to the county jail.
Corey R. Conyers of South Pine Street was initially charged by police with defiant trespass and breach of peace.
He was to be lodged in the county jail in lieu of $1,000 bail, but that was before the corrections officer allegedly found him to be in possession
of the heroin.
After the heroin was located, police charged Conyers with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to
distribute, distribution of heroin in a school zone and distribution of heroin in a public housing complex. His bail was then increased to a
total of $26,000.
The NJNEOA congratulates the Cumberland County Corrections Department for their diligence and meticulous work
while dealing with inmates.
