"COCAINE - JUST A CALL AWAY"

     During the month of July 2005, the Perth Amboy Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s began an investigation into the cocaine delivery network run by an individual identified as Miguel B. Endara (9/26/80) of 443 Market Street Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
     The information that the agencies had about Endara was that he kept on hand 100 grams of cocaine at all times and was able to obtain kilogram quantities for distribution with just a phone call.
     In conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Newark Field Division, the agencies began a two month investigation utilizing undercover operatives and surveillance.
     The investigation came to a conclusion on September 15th, when surveillance observed the arrival of a two individuals in a 1995 Mazda Millenia who entered Endara’s residence. Shortly therafter, Endara was observed exiting his residence carrying a plastic bag. When the officers confronted Endara, they found the bag to contain over one (1) pound of high-grade cocaine.
     A search of Endara’s residence resulted in the seizure of an additional three (3) ounces of cocaine, packaging materials, scales and $4,897.00 in drug proceeds. Also arrested at Endara’s residence were Luis A. Morales (6/14/74) and Eluid Rodriguez (3/25/69) both from New York.
     All three individuals were charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a drug free school zone. Bails were set by the Honorable Emery Toth, Municipal Judge of Perth Amboy: Endara $250,000.00 – no 10%, Morales $150,000.00 – no 10%, Rodriguez $150,000.00 – no 10%.
     The New Jersey Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association commends the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force, the Perth Amboy Police Department, the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration’s Newark Field Division, the Middlesex County Special Operations Response Team and officers from both the Carteret and South Plainfield’s Police Departments who participated in the investigation on a job well done.
