"WOODBRIDGE PD: The Police Department that works together."

The evening of May 13, 2004 began as an uneventful night for Ptl. W. Bukowski when the police department’s dispatcher received a call from a female stating that she had a Temporary Restraining Order against Salvatore Molle.

Ptl. Bukowski was elected to field the call. After reading a copy of the “TRO” he saw that there was an assortment of weapons that law enforcement had been instructed to seize from Molle.

The caller, who seemed to be in grave distress, stated that Molle, who had access to numerous assault weapons, had been stalking her and was leaving threatening messages on her answering machine. Molle had even threatened to have the “IRA” blow up her house.

Following through with the information, Bukowski learned that Molle had a prior history that included: assault, drug and harassment offenses..

With the assistance of the department’s SORT team and Narcotics unit, a domestic violence search warrant was executed at the home where Molle had resided with his mother. Inside a locked toolbox located in the garage, officers seized: several grams of hashish, marijuana, two MAC-10 machine guns, a handgun, numerous rounds of ammunition, magazines and several stun guns.

Molle was placed under arrest and charged with numerous weapons and drug charges.

The investigation didn’t end there though. During an interview of Molle that was conducted by Detective Roessler of the Narcotics unit, it was learned that Molle had extensive involvement with outlaw motorcycle gangs, stolen motorcycles, stolen motorcycle parts, weapons and hashish. It was also learned that Molle maintained a garage at a local storage facility.

After obtaining a signed consent to search from Molle, members of the narcotics unit seized from the Molle’s rented garage an additional: 490 grams of hashish, 7 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, 1 Suzuki motorcycle, a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun, a .22 caliber revolver and assorted paperwork leading the officers to believe that the items were destined to be shipped to Ireland. It was determined that all eight motorcycles had been reported stolen.

Additional drug and weapons charges were subsequently signed against Molle. Bail was set in the amount of $195,000. with a no 10% option.

After examination of the evidence seized thus far, the narcotics detectives applied for, and executed an additional search warrant at Molle’s home. The officers seized a quantity of cocaine, $15,900 in cash, a computer and paperwork.

The NJNEOA commends Ptl. Bukowski, Det. Roessler and the officers of the Woodbridge Police Department’s Patrol, Narcotics and SORT units on an outstanding investigation. It is their cohesiveness working together that makes Woodbridge Police Department one of the best in the state.
